Matthieu de Chanville
Deputy Head of Alliance Ventures, Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi

Matthieu de Chanville is Business partners & Fund of Funds Director of Alliance Ventures, Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi’s global investment organization, which manages corporate venture capital investment in open innovation, in support of the Alliance's strategic objectives.

Co-located in Silicon Valley, Paris, Yokohama and Beijing, “Alliance Ventures” is a $200 million venture capital fund operating for Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, the world’s leading automotive alliance. Launched in 2018, the fund targets technology and business model innovation in vehicle electrification, autonomous systems, car connectivity and new mobility services.

Matthieu joined the Alliance in November 2017 and co-managed the creation of AllianceVentures. Prior to his current position, Matthieu spent almost two decades in strategy and management consulting, with his most recent position as Senior Executive at the BostonConsulting Group. Based in Paris, he led innovation management within BCG Digital Ventures working with technology startups and venture capital. He also led digital strategy and transformation projects within the Technology Advantage Practice.

From 2001 to 2016, Matthieu worked at A.T. Kearney where he was the lead for DigitalBusiness in Paris. During his time with the firm, he created, developed and led the digital business line for France and turned it into a strong business offering. He was also the lead organizer of the Digital Business Forum, managing a team of 40 who oversaw a 300+ gathering of senior executives on “Leadership Beyond Digital”.

Matthieu’s core areas of expertise were innovation and digital transformation support for large corporates across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His projects ranged from pure strategic design to business transformation implementation. In addition to supervising large projects and consultant teams, Matthieu assumed responsibilities in business development, recruiting and marketing.

He began his consulting career in the Strategic Services practice at Accenture.

Beyond his core professional responsibilities, Matthieu is adjunct professor in strategy at HEC School of Management and a coach and mentor to several startups.

Matthieu holds a Master in Computer Engineering and two Masters in Management, which he earned from the HEC Paris and from the Community of European Management Schools.
